The Foodie Curls Indian Recipes

Maggie is one of the most preferred food for those pressed for time. Here I am presenting another variation to it for those who are bored of regular one.

Masala Maggie with Onion & Tomatoes:

Masala Maggie
Stove to serve : 10 mins

Ingredients


2 maggie instant Noodles
1 medium onion
1 medium tomato
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp cooking oil

Method :

1.     Heat oil in the pan.
2.     Add onion, stir till onion becomes translucent
3.     Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder,salt & ginger garlic paste. Sauté them well for about 5 mins  .
4.     To this add chopped tomatoes. Cook for only 1 min.Make sure tomatoes doesn’t gets mushy.
5.     Pour 2 cups of water to this mixture & get it to a boiling point.
6.     Finally add taste maker & Maggie noodles.
7.     Cover the lid & cook for about 2 mins
8.     Maggie is ready to be served.

Sheera is most often made during festivals, celebrations or any religious ceremony .It is also known as sooji ka halwa or rawa sheera. This is very easy & quick to make anytime you wish to have a sweet dish.

Sheera/Sooji Halwa/Rawa/Sweet dish
sheera rawa sooji halwa
Stove to Serve Time: Approx 30 mins

Ingredients

1 cup Semolina/Sooji/Rawa
3-4 tbsp Sugar
3-4 tbsp Ghee
Dryfruits (chashewnuts, almond, raisin)
Cardamom Powder

Method:

1.       Heat generous amount of ghee in a pan. Add semolina/sooji/rawa to it.
2.       Fry on a low to medium heat until it begins to smell good and turns light golden.
3.       Add around 250 ml of hot boiling water in the pan.
4.       Keep stirring to prevent lumps until all the water is absorbed
5.       Now add sugar,dried fruits & cardamom powder
6.       Stir once more and cook for atleast 3-4 mins. You can also add another 1 tbsp of ghee to get the proper glaze.Switch off the stove and its ready to be served
7.       Garnish with nuts and raisins.

Serving- Serve sooji ka halwa hot or warm.
