The best and healthy peanut butter is to make it yourself. Store bought peanut butter has lot of additives like sugar, different types of unhealthy oil and even preservatives. Today I am going to show you, how to make all natural peanut butter at home in just couple of minutes.No extra oil or sugar; just wholesome rich and thick peanut butter. The high protein and healthy oils help with weight loss when consumed in moderation. Let’s see how to make this easy and protein rich & smooth peanut butter at home.

Peanut Butter Recipe

Cook and preparation time : 15 mins

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup of roasted peanut
1 1/2 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Honey
Pinch of salt

Method to make Peanut Butter:

  1. Roast peanuts until they turn little brown and aromatic. The skin of the peanut contains lot of nutrients which is good for our peanut butter
  2. Once the peanuts are cooled down a little grind them well to powder form
  3. Next add butter , honey and a pinch of salt to it
  4. Grind them again and in equal intervals until they form a smooth paste. Peanut will release its own oil while grinding so there is no need to add extra oil
  5. That’s it , here your wholesome and nutritious peanut butter is ready to be served 

How to make peanut butter step-by-step with pictures

That’s it , here your wholesome and nutritious peanut butter is ready to be served.

Servings : Can serve with toasted bread and bananas or can have it with roti or chapati.

Notes & Tips:


  1. If your peanut butter looks little dry you can add little butter and grind them again.
  2. Keep grinding the peanut butter in 20 seconds intervals until it forms a rich and thick paste. For me it took 4 intervals to get that perfect texture.
  3. Store it in a airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator to increase the lifespan of Peanut butter.

Sama rice kheer | Sugarless kheer | Samo rice kheer | vrat ka kheer | dessert

Sama ke Chawal ki kheer is normally consumed during vrat (fasting). This is a gluten free dessert. It is a perfect dish during Navratri and for those who love a sweet dish without sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Cooking time -30 mins

Ingredients 


1 litre whole fat milk
1/2 cup Samo rice/ Vrat ka chawal 
3/4 cup Jaggery
1/2 tsp crushed cardamom powder
Dryfruits of your choice 

Method

  1. Wash samak rice a few times and soak in water for about 30 minutes
  2. Soak almonds in hot water for 10 minutes. Peel them and chop them. Chop the cashews also.I have also used raisins and pistachios (you can use dryfruits as per your choice )
  3. Peel the cardamoms, and crush the seeds. Keep aside.
  4. Boil full cream milk in a wok. Once it boils, add the soaked rice without the water. Lower the heat and let it cook for 30 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes so that it does not get stuck at the bottom.
  5. If the rice feels softer add dry fruits and cardamom powder. Let it cook for another 2 mins
  6. Off the flame and keep it to cool
  7. Until then prepare for melting jaggery.
  8. Once jaggery is melted strain it remove all the impurities . Now add it to the Samo rice kheer / pudding
  9. Mix well Sama Rice kheer is ready to be served
  10. Keep it in a refrigerator or you can serve it warm
Garnish with dry fruits and saffron 

Serves 5-6 Pax

Ever wondered how to make your favourite health drink without having to add any sugar to it?
Well, here is the answer.
Presenting 2 drinks:  Banana Milkshake and Lassi.
Both these drinks are refreshing, loaded with goodness of milk, honey, curd, banana, almonds and saffron. It is not only good in taste but will also keep your stomach full for a longer period of time which means less hunger cravings.
These drinks are ideal for those considering dieting and also during festive season fasting.

Banana Milkshake and Lassi

Ingredients

For Banana Milkshake

Ingredients

2 Large Bananas(Ripe)
1 ½ cup chilled Milk
8-10 Almonds (soaked and de-skinned)
Honey as per taste
Cardamom powder
Saffron for garnishing (optional)
Method
1.       Wash and soak almonds for about 5 hours. Peel the skin.
2.       Add them to a blender jar also add banana, cardamom powder, milk and honey . Blend them as smooth as possible. Add ice cubes (if needed) and blend until smooth and frothy.
3.       Pour banana shake to serving glass

For Lassi

8-10 tbsp Curd (I have used home made rich and creamy curd. You can find the method here)
8-10 Almonds (soaked and de-skinned)
Cardamom powder
Honey as per taste
Saffron for garnishing(optional)

Method

1.       Wash and soak almonds for about 5 hours. Peel the skin.
2.       Add them to a blender jar also add curd, cardamom powder and honey. Blend them as smooth as possible. Add ice cubes (if needed) and blend until smooth and frothy.
3.       Pour chilled Lassi to serving glass
Note- Both these healthy drinks will keep you full for a longer time.
