Ingredients 

  • 500 gms Raw Banana
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin and Carom seed
  • Asafoetida
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 green chilli 
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp crushed/powder Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder 
  • 2 medium sized Tomato purée
  • 2 tbsp roasted crushed Peanut Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Amchur powder/ Dry raw Mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala 
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt as per taste 

Method 

  • Wash cut and peel the raw bananas. Cut them into round equal parts
  • In a Kadai or pan take 1 tbsp oil and fry the banana pieces until the crust turns little brown
  • Now in the same kadai heat 1 tbsp of oil, add cumin, carom seeds and crushed/ powdered coriander seeds.
  • Once they start to splutter add asafoetida, finely chopped green chilli and Curry leaves
  • Next add tomato purée, turmeric and red chilli powder 
  • Sauté until oil starts oozing out from the masala
  • Now add fried banana pieces and our special ingredient crushed and roasted peanut powder. Peanut powder will give our dish nice and nutty flavour (highly recommended)
  • Sauté them well with the masalas for 2 mins 
  • Add water according to your preference. I have used around 1cup water here
  • Cover and let it cook for 2 more mins, you will notice all the water has been absorbed by the banana. If required you can add more water and make it gravy consistency or can also keep it dry 
  • Finally add Amchur and Garam masala powder. Mix well for 2 mins 
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
