KFC Style Chicken Fry | Crunchy Chicken fry

Serves 2-3 Pax
Ingredients
4 Chicken leg piece (with skin)
For marination
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
2 cup Buttermilk
Salt
For Application
1 cup all purpose flour/Maida
3/4 cup Cornflour
1 tsp Chilli Flakes
1 tsp pepper powder
2 tsp mixed herbs/ Pasta mix
1 cup Cornflakes
1/2 tsp chilli powder(optional)
2 eggs
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep frying
Method to make KFC style Chicken Fry:
- Marinate the chicken pieces for atleast 2 hours with pepper powder , gingergarlic paste and salt.
- Dip it in buttermilk so that our chicken becomes nice and juicy
- After two hours take a bowl add Cornflour, all purpose flour, chilli fakes , pepper powder , mixed herbs / pasta mix , chilli powder (optional ) , crush some cornflakes with your hand and little salt. Mix them well and keep aside
- Now in another bowl break two eggs add pinch of pepper and salt. Beat them well and keep aside
- Take out the marinated chicken pieces drain out excess water and dip it in our first dry mixture and coat the pieces well
- Now dip the same piece of chicken in egg batter so that our mixture gets well coated and the again dip that piece in the dry mixture. Double coating will make our chicken fry super crunchy
- In the same process coat all the chicken leg pieces
- For deep frying heat oil in a pan and in medium flame fry the coated chicken leg pieces until they turn nice and golden brown. With the help of fork or knife u can check whether chicken is cooked perfectly.
- Once the chicken is fried take them out in a kitchen towel to drain the excess oil
- Serve hot with any sauce or can have as it is
- For dip I have used 1 tsp tomato sauce , 1 tsp chilli sauce , 1 tbsp mayonnaise and little spring onions . Mix all the ingredients well and your super yumilious dip is ready.
Note/ Tips
- Try to use chicken pieces with skin so as to get that perfect crunch
- If the pan used for frying is small , fry one leg piece at a time. Overcrowding will lead to fall in temperature of the oil and chicken pieces may remain raw from inside
- If you don’t have buttermilk you can use curd instead and add little water to it so that chicken pieces are immersed completely
How to make Crispy KFC Fried Chicken with step by step pictures:
