Creamy Chicken Afghani recipe
Restaurant style Afghani Chicken recipe with a smoky touch. You can make this recipe as gravy base or dry as per your choice. This is one of the best Chicken recipe. Ingredients used in this chicken recipe is very minimal. This chicken goes well with roti, naan or rice. If you are expecting guests at home or you want to celebrate any special occasion such as potluck, kitty parties, buffet or anniversaries then this dish will do wonders. Follow these easy steps to prepare this amazing dish also known as murgh Afghani.

Ingredients
1 kg Chicken
200 gms curd
250 ml fresh cream
2 tbsp Ginger garlic and chili paste
2 tsp Pepper powder
2 tsp Chaat masala
1 tsp Garam masala powder
2 tsp roasted Kasuri methi/Fenugreek leaves
1 Lemon
3 tbsp oil
Salt to taste

Method to prepare Afghani chicken
- In a bowl take all the ingredients except for oil.
- Add chicken pieces and keep for marination for atleast 1 hour
- Heat oil in a pan, fry each piece until chicken turns golden brown
- Now add the remaining marinate in oil and add little oil. Cook with chicken for about 10 mins
- You can add water as per the consistency of your choice
- To give it a smoky flavour, heat one coal place it in a katori/ small vessel add 1/2 tsp ghee/oil/butter. Place it on the middle of the dish. Cover with the lid and keep it closed until all smoke disappears. This technique will give a nice smoky flavour like restaurant style
- Serve hot with paratha or naan
Note:
You can also add cashew paste in the marinate
